I can't believe no one has commented on this yet.
It's basically about a school leaver (graduate) who didn't do too well at school but is nonetheless ready to take on the world. It's a basically a big 'Fuck You' to the school system.
I never realized until recently that the opening lines are different ("a modern world...the modern world"). Interesting difference!
