So You Think You're in Love Lyrics

So you think you're in love
Yes, you probably are
But you wanna be straight about it
Oh, you wanna be straight about it now

So you think you're in love
Yes, you probably are
But you wanna be straight about it
Oh, you wanna be straight about it now

Can you imagine what the people say? Can you?
But the silent majority
Is the crime of the century
You know it

Are you sure that it's wise?
No, you probably ain't
You don't wanna be faint about it
Oh, you shouldn't be faint about it now

By the look in your eyes
No, you probably ain't
But you shouldn't be faint about it
Oh, you gotta be faint about it now

What is love made of?
Nobody knows
What are you afraid of?
Everyone knows
It's love
It's love

So you think you're in love
Yes, you probably are
But you wanna be straight about it
Oh, you gotta be straight about it now

So you think you're in love
Yes, you probably are
But you wanna be straight about it
Oh, you gotta be straight about it now

So you think you're in love
Yeah

Cover art for So You Think You're in Love lyrics by Robyn Hitchcock & the Egyptians

The guise of the song is advice, but I think it may be self-advice -- kind of a pep talk to one's self. "But the silent majority is the crime of the century" is the toughest line for me to decipher, but I think it means that failing to be "straight about" being in love would be a crime.

Great song, one of my favorite Robyn Hitchcock songs.
