Eire Lyrics
In the land of Eireann
Where sat the high king
Faced with the problems
The dreaded vikings
Gather all the men folk
Speaking the Celtic tongue
The land is Eireann
The land is young
Stands Red O'Donnell
Fighting the Saxon foe
With Hugh O'Neil
Ohh
All along the north land
They fight bitterly
The land is eireann
The land is free
Where sat the high king
Faced with the problems
The dreaded vikings
Speaking the Celtic tongue
The land is Eireann
The land is young
Fighting the Saxon foe
With Hugh O'Neil
Ohh
They fight bitterly
The land is eireann
The land is free

This song is from Thin Lizzy's very early days. It was released when there were only 3 band members : Philip Lynott,,,Bass Eric Bell....Lead Giuitar and 12 string guiter.....Brian Downey...Drums. It was their first allbums, release iin April 1971. I lover their music; always have, and have quite the collection of their releases...but not all. Eire is a Celtic based tune about times long ago; probably in Ireland (Lynott was born there.), If you listen to it, it tells a story about probably medieval times centuries ago. Phenomenal talent of musicians even in their debut album. Love those Guys!
