Cover art for Stolen Moments lyrics by Mark Murphy

These lyrics sound very much like an old, over-the-hill jazz artist trying to woo a pretty young thing less than half his age. Just read between the lines of the lyrics.

"If I told you I love you, pretty baby, Would it make up for what they say?" -

-People generally only have annoying things to say about things that annoy THEM. "Look at the old fart with that 20-something pretty young thing! He's old enought to be her grandfather!"

"And someday will find us Where people won't bind us To the hands of time."

-Ok, now, could that be any more obvious? "bound (by the `twitterers') to the The Hands Of TIME?"

"There are so many things I'll teach you, And they call me a useless bum."

-So now he's gonna be her TEACHER, huh? Guess what he's going to try to TEACH. -Hey, this happens all the time - but he'd better be RICH, or he can FORGET ABOUT IT, and he'll be in for a REALITY CHECK.
