I've actually heard the lead singer of The Choirboys talk about how it was about drugs, it is about the pain of watching some of their good friends go down that path with tragic consequences
this is such a great song! and it revs me up so much, but without the musics, the lyrics are really deep, its one of my favourtite songs!

This song although upbeat is anything about happiness or masturbatin its about drug abuse. Run to Paradise- their dying going (very fast) to heaven You dont mind if i abuse myself so i can hold my head up high- self explainatory really You dont need anyone- when you abuse drugs you dont actually need anyone and no one really wants to be around you either... so in a spirit of defience decide that you dont need anyone. You dont need a friend when you can score- this is further evidence of the previous point.. score= getting drugs/a fix.
