I Don't Believe in If Anymore Lyrics

Now if you load your rifle right
and if you fix your bayonette so
and if you kill that man my friend
the one we call the foe

and if you do it often lad
and if you do it right
you'll be a hero over night
you'll save your country from a plight
remember god is always right
if you survive to see the sight
of friend now greeting foe

Oh, you won't believe in if anymore
if's an illusion, if's an illusion
you won't believe in if anymore
if is for children
if is for children, building daydreams

if I knew then what I know now
I thought i did, you know somehow
if I could have the time again
I'd take the sunsine, leave the rain
if only time would trickle slow
like rain that melt's the fallen snow
if only lord, if only
if only lord, if only

Oh, I don't believe in if anymore
if's an illusion, if's an illusion
I don't believe in if any more
if is for children
if is for children, building daydreams

repeat chorus

Cover art for I Don't Believe in If Anymore lyrics by Roger Whittaker

The original lyrics for this contained: No I don't believe in God anymore, He's and illusion....

I guess too many people found this offensive and he had to make the meaning less obvious.

@whatdoctor

i suppose from this perspective, i can see that view. if God is only a God of my race and not of the entire universe.

i wonder why we are such a contradiction. we can't see the hypocrisy of denying God, but only accepting God on second hand views and information i.e. "preacher" says, etc;

seek for yourself. The bible has been translated from greek and hebrew. look for yourselves.
