I actually asked Tonight Alive's singer about this. Amelia was her best friend as a kid, but they stopped talking for a long time, and eventually Amelia committed suicide (not related to Jenna McDougall). Jenna felt extremely guilty that she hadn't been there for Amelia when she really needed her, so she wrote this song to remember her, and to make sure that the world knows who she was, like it says during the bridge: "You made the news and the papers for days and days But it hardly seems fair The whole world should know your name I want them to know your name"

I'm 100% sure look it up yourself. Amelia McGuiness skiing accident. She went to school with me and died in 2011, it was a tragic accident that was devastating for everyone who knew her.

I was at a meet and greet and some guy asked Jenna about the story behind Amelia. Judging by what she said, the Amelia she is talking about it Amelia McGuiness. I'm not sure if they were best friends, but they went to the school when they were 15 and were friends. This song reminds me of my step sister and I. I feel like this song would be from my sister's point of view rather than mine. I've suffered from depression for years and she's been there for me through all of it until now. Since she moved, I feel bad again and I've thought of suicide or running away. But, for our parents I don't think I will.

I was reading a story on Wattpad, and they mentioned this song, so I looked it up and listened, and after finding out what it meant, I couldn't stop crying. I had a best friend from 1st grade who committed suicide a year ago. Just a small song, can trigger thousands of tear-shedding memories.
