Like a Professional Lyrics

You really work the room like a blue fashion
You know everyone
I'm so uncomfortable
What became of everyone I used to know?
Wrote that song for you and I meant every word
At the time, you'd kill a man who lost your cigarettes
So then I had the only tangible asset
Go on, admit, you're just over it

You temper temper like a baby animal
In a cage so long working miracles
I know you have signs to what you're looking for
I hope that works for you
I know it leads to ways to
And to fail
And trust me, when you fall you will fall hard
Oh, it sails
And you lose sight of who you really are
I must admit, I'm just over it

Cover art for Like a Professional lyrics by Matt Pryor

Wow, what an incredible song and easily my favorite on the new album.

The reference to "Holiday" makes me think it's about Matt's dad, but it also sort of sounds like the song could be about Jamie, with the "tangible asset" being Matt's songwriting ability.
