this is possibly the best song i've ever heard in my life. hands like houses has an incredibly bright future ahead of them. but can anyone explain what this song means? i've been trying to figure it out for quite some time but i just can't quite put my finger on it :/
"“Lion Skin” is about the place between awake and asleep when something is heavy on your mind, and your dreams and imaginations are at their most vivid and you wander, half-asleep and half-awake. I guess it’s more about the image and emotion than the story–that’s how I prefer to write. I think this will be one of our enduring favourites, it’s big, it’s grand, it flows and it’s fun to play live. It’s going to stay with us for a very long time, I feel."

Through months and months of listening to this and the other two HLH singles, I've come to realize that their songs romanticize everything. This song is about insomnia, interpreted in a very imaginative way.
"Sleeplessness is for the restless." "The lights are out, but I walk these halls the way I've walked before." "Cast the sheep out of your mind, count the wolves and we'll sleep tonight."
Basically, it describes how he goes from having too many things going through his head and not wanting to be restless, to practically being scared into sleep by how different things are than usual. If that makes any sense? Instead of going to sleep in peace, he goes in fear, and I think it all ties in to all of the restlessness and creativity that illustrates the rest of the setting.
I only listened to this band because jonny craig was featured in this song. That's the only reason I started listening to them! I LOVE HANDS LIKE HOUSES AND JONNY CRAIG!
