Song is very relatable for anyone who decides to stay friends with someone they were in a relationship with. With very straightforward lyrics, the song describes how plans with someone have changed. That and additionally feelings are different and not was initially agreed on. It approaches the relationship grieving process at a stage where someone chooses not to feel and know's it's not normal or correct. The "Endless Melody" is a mindset of being more than what they are with that other person the song references. They are still in love, still have feelings, and generally are unhappy with the current and future situation.
