Biloxi Parish Lyrics

I've been fumbling with your heart strings,
And that's good enough for me,
And if I rain on any one of your hours,
Then I know I must been working,
Try it on for size my darling,
See what man you can make of me,
I will eventually haunt you,
Or you'll eventually will be my queen,

And I'll be with you through
The dark so that you do not,
Go through the dark alone,
On your own

I've been down at Biloxi Parish,
And that's good enough for me,
I found that nothing truly matters,
That you cannot find for free,
I love you more than can I tell you,
When you pass through from this world,
I hope you ask to take me with you
So I don't have to wait for long

But until then I'll be with you through the dark,
And until then I'll be with you through the dark

And who else can say that about you, baby
Who else can say that about you, now
And who else can take all your blood and your curses
Nobody I've seen ya hanging around
Seen ya hanging around

And all of our heroes with failures of ghosts
Burn down in brilliant explosions alone
And all of the blood and the sweat that they gave
Well we took it all and we threw it away

And who else can say that about you, baby
Who else can say that about you, now
And who else can take all your blood and your curses
Nobody I've seen ya hanging around
And who else can say that about you, baby
Who else can say that about you, now
And who else can say all your blood and your curses
Nobody I've seen ya hanging around
Seen ya hanging around

The lyrics are wrong.

They should be:

Biloxi Parish

I've been fumbling with your heartstrings and that's good enough for me And if I've rained on one of your hours then I know I must be working Try it on for size, my darling See what a man you can make of me I will eventually haunt you or you'll eventually be my queen And I'll be with you through the dark So that you do not go through the dark alone Or on your own

I been down Biloxi Parish and that's all the same to me I've found that nothing truly matters that you cannot find for free I love you more than I can tell you and when you pass through from this world I hope you ask to take me with you or that I won't have to wait to long But until then I'll be with you through the dark Yes, until then I'll be with you through the dark

And who else can say that about you baby? Who else can say that about you now? And who else can take all your blood and your curses? Nobody I seen you hanging around Seen you hanging around

And all of my heroes were failures or ghosts Burned out in brilliant explosions alone And all of the blood and sweat that they gave Well, we took it all and we threw it away

And who else can say that about you baby? Who else can say that about you now? Who else can take all your blood and your curses? Nobody I've seen you hanging around

And who else can say that about you baby? Who else can say that about you now? And who else can take all your blood and your curses? Nobody I seen you hanging around Seen you hanging around

Does "to fondle with" even exist? I think the first line is "I've been fumbling with your heart strings".

I really like the line "I will eventually haunt you or you'll eventually be my queen." I interpret it as: One day you'll regret not having me or one day you will have me.

My favorite line, too. Every girl wants to be treated like royalty, but none want some guy to be obsessed with her. Unfortunately, the two tend to go hand and hand.

From the guy's perspective, it's about being the unabashed romantic. The one who will love her no matter what. "Who else can take all your blood and your curses?" is an ultimatum.

So don't take life for granted. Love isn't free. And I'll work at us forever.

That's the message I get.

Just to say that in the album version that's being streamed on NPR that the whole 'I ain't seen my home in half a year' verse is gone. I haven't sat down to work out the lyrics yet, but the album's out here tomorrow, so I'll look on the lyric sheet. Got to say this sounds way better than it did - it sound utterly huge on the album, can't wait to hear the rest of it.

Biloxi was a parish in Louisiana (other states call them counties) from 1811 to 1812. Before it was part of West Florida territory (Spain) and after became part of Mississippi.

Try it on for size, my darling, try out a relationship with me. I'm only fumbling with your heartstrings at the moment but I'll either be someone who will eventually haunt you forever, for what we might have been, or you will be my queen.

Next he is with her, telling her nothing really matters that you cannot find for free, a lover and a partner. And I have found you. And when you leave this world, I want to follow you wherever that goes. I will be with you through the dark, the worst times, so you never have to deal with it alone again.

Maybe the dark is a rough time she is going through, or it's nearly the end of her life. And who else can say that about you. I love you more than anyone and more than I can tell you.

Even my heroes burned out and went out of this world alone. As though she is better than all of his heroes. He won't let her go alone. She is his biggest hero.

Amazing lyrics.
