Devil's Work Lyrics

The blinds here are so sharp and they cut
The light from a primitive sun.
You know I really wanted her.

Society thinks so highly of
This hotel I vomited on
Before I lost the sight of her

My man, he quietly closes the door.
Now the pharaoh has woken.
My hands, I feel like I've been here before.
She has already spoken.

Anyway
There's no reason to get hurt.
You don't need to sell your shirt
To do the devil's work.

You've finally found your place.
You know it always works.
You know it always works.

I saw someone who looked like you on
The platform at Bohndi station,
But from a younger era.
The lights in the bell house were still on.
We all need somebody to love
Be we clothed or naked

My man, he quietly closes the door.
Now the pharaoh has woken.
My hands, I feel like I've been here before.
She has already spoken.

Anyway
Theres' no reason to get hurt.
You don't need to sell your shirt
To do the devil's work.

You've finally found your place.
You know it always works.
You know it always works.
You've finally found your place.

Thanks for the lyrics. I believe it means to finally shut the damn door and NEVER EVER look back 'cause the person was never worth it to begin with... GOOD SONG!

All positive and full of smiles/butterflies/hearts....and everything else cheery, huh?

I'm so sorry. You don't have the $$$ to wine and dine her OR s/he has to study for her high school exams? Such a pity. You, not her.

Thanks for my evening. It's been the most fun I've had since this afternoon:)

I think the song is literally about sex. The devil's work is sex itself.

He's makes the argument that you don't have to do much to have sex. He easily finds this girl who he has been with before (My hands, I feel like I've been here before)
