Hooped Earrings Lyrics

Come on give me a break, what is the point if I stay?
There's not much I can say, I never really knew your mom anyway
And now she's crying in the bathroom
I'm standing on the back porch for support
And she's begging you not to cut your hair
'Cause curly hair don't look good short

And you've gotta do this now or you can never come home again
Yeah you've gotta do this now or you can never come home again, again

You got a rash on your neck just below the line
Where your shirt stops covering and leaves your skin bare.
It's such an unimportant detail that has nothing to do with anything
But it's the only thing I remember from when I cut your hair.

And you've got to do this now or you can never come home again
Yeah you've gotta do this now or you can never come home again, again

And there are not so many options, not so many ways that this could possibly end.

Yeah you've gotta do this now or you can never come home again, again

This song is amazing, I think it's about having to break up with someone or you'll hate yourself for staying with that person.

I think this song is about a friend of his coming out to her mother, and he is there for support.
The mother also asks her not to cut her hair once she comes out because she doesn't think it will look good short.

My Interpretation

@livingroom You're right I read that somewhere can't remember where though

love this song but the title is spelt wrong here - it should be 'hooped earings' rather than earrings as it refers to a type of line/rope found on boats rather than the jewellery.
