I think this is my favorite song on the new album. However, I think you got a bit wrong.

The Black Keys are a cool band. The song seems to be pretty straight forward to me - he's mesmerized by the girl he's in a relationship with. She's beautiful. Yet, their relationship is abusive: "explode", "electric shout", "I'm wounded". Despite this, he still stays with her.
Is that what it's really about? He's in a "relationship" with someone. Really? I'm sorry, I don't get that from the song. I believe the song's about a dream that he's very happy to have while he leads his real life with his real life girlfriend. Ya think. Yup, I think. The singer doesn't appear to be too bright, now does he.
