Tounge Tied Lyrics

Take me to your best friend's house
Roll around this roundabout
Oh yeah
Take me to your best friend's house

I loved you then and I love you now
Oh yeah
Don't take me tongue tied
Don't wave no goodbye

Don't
Take me to your best friend's house
Marmalade we're making out
Oh yeah

Take me to your best friend's house
I loved you then and I love you now
Don't take me tongue tied
Don't wave no goodbye

Don't
One, two, three, four
Don't leave me tongue tied
Let's stay up all night

I'll get real high
Slumber party; pillow fight
My eyes and your eyes
Like Peter Pan up in the sky

My best friend's house tonight
Let's bump the beats till beddy-bye
Don't take me tongue tied
Don't wave no goodbye

Don't take me tongue tied
Don't kiss me goodnight
Don't
Take me to your best friend's house

Roll around this roundabout
Oh yeah
Take me to your best friend's house
I loved you then and I love you now

Don't leave me tongue tied
Don't wave no goodbye
Don't leave me tongue tied
Don't

Don't leave me tongue tied
Don't wave no goodbye
Don't leave me tongue tied
Don't

Maybe it doesn't mean there breaking up at all. Maybe he just likes her and vice versa. Maybe they both are to shy or stuborn to admit it. Shes leaving again and neither one know how to say it. Thats what the roundabout means. Maybe she took him to her best friends house, thats a step kinda. IDK maybe he knows she feels the same. Everytime they say goodbye, neither one knows how to say goodbye even tho it's obvious they both did each other

I believe it is marmalade instead of normally. As for the lyrics I think he means that his girl is leaving him and he is tongue tied. He doesn't have the words to say to make her stay, but he doesn't want her to go. He has always loved her and always will.

I agree with drex, this song is about a threesome. The whole tongue tied thing is about not making it an akward situation. The name of the band IS Grouplove. If you seperate the lyrics in a different way than the OP did this becomes more clear...

First of all, I'm not sure if this happy-highschool song contains any deeper meaning. But if it does, I think it's the author being sad that is relationship is over. He's just being told so, and he'd like to turn back time. Go hang out with her friends again, do the things they did before. Roll around the roundabout, go back where they came from.

My Interpretation

I agree, this song has a deeper meaning. Remember the name of the album is "Don't Trust a Happy Song" ;)

The lyrics have an error. t's marmalade we're making out. NOT normally.

I agree that it's "marmalade"....I think it's a song about being in love, he's tongue tied and he can't talk right or make sense, thus the nonsense words..."marmalade we're making out". Also I don't think it's about a relationship that's over. I think it's about being happy and in the moment, he's in love and he's saying, I don't want to go home, I don't want this to end, let's stay out all night. Not to over-analyze this very simple song LOL, but a lot of the above posters seem to think it's about a relationship that's over, but I insist that it's a happy song about a current relationship!

This song is about a guy who likes a girl, but she doesn't know about his feelings for her. They are hanging out together and she decides to take him to her best friend's house, just to hang out with more people and have a slumber party. The girl has a crush on him too, and they start making out at some point during the night. The song is really amazing, just the layering of all the voices and the simple guitar part. I'm not sure if this makes sense, but listening to it makes you feel as if you ARE the guy in the song, and you're experiencing the story through his eyes. Truly amazing.
