Lonely Boy Lyrics
Well I'm so above you
And it's plain to see
But I came to love you anyway
So you tore my heart out
And I don't mind bleeding
Any old time you keep me waiting
Waiting, waiting
Chorus:
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
I'm a lonely boy
I'm a lonely boy
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
Well your mama kept you but your daddy left you
And I should've done you just the same
But I came to love you
Am I born to bleed?
Any old time you keep me wating
Waiting, waiting
Chorus:
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
I'm a lonely boy
I'm a lonely boy
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
I'm a lonely boy
I'm a lonely boy
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
And it's plain to see
But I came to love you anyway
So you tore my heart out
And I don't mind bleeding
Any old time you keep me waiting
Waiting, waiting
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
I'm a lonely boy
I'm a lonely boy
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
And I should've done you just the same
But I came to love you
Am I born to bleed?
Any old time you keep me wating
Waiting, waiting
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
I'm a lonely boy
I'm a lonely boy
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
I'm a lonely boy
I'm a lonely boy
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting

Sounds to me like he's in love with a girl who doesn't have time for him.
I heard this song on Need for Speed: The Run and after hearing it calmly, i've thought in a lot of things, but i'm going to give my main interpretation from the bad experience i had in the last two years in elementary school and what do i feel in the present day.
"Well I'm so above you And it's plain to see But I came to love you anyway So you tore my heart out And I don't mind bleeding Any old time to keep me waiting Waiting, waiting"
This part means that he's busy with something ridiculous, and he loves a girl, but he's remembering about what she had done to him when he told about that love, when she hurt him of some form (slaped him in the face, manipulated someone against him or even ran away from him), but he didn't care and still loved her, and now he's waiting for her to somehow give a bit of love.
(CHORUS) "Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting I'm a lonely boy I'm a lonely boy Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting"
This part means that he is waiting for that woman/girl to stop hating him and maybe show some way of love for him (kiss him, ask for sorry, make sex or have fun with him) and that he feels lonely, probabilly in the love part and/or in the social part.
"Well your mama kept you but your daddy left you And I should've done you just the same But I came to love you And I want to flee Any old time you keep me waiting Waiting, waiting"
This part means that her mother stayed with her, but her father left her, and someone thinks he should have left her, but he really loves her and wants to leave the place he is (maybe the city both of them are currently living) and he's again waiting for her to somehow give a bit of love.
In my opinion, it's a very good song, a bit sad, but it's also realistic. Like my interpretation of the music, i really want to leave my city.
@Castro93 you nailed it

It's pretty much about a guy who's fallen madly in love with a girl that isn't good enough for him (seriously). She keeps him waiting... and he does wait because he's a lonely boy... but he should've left her trashy ass just like her parents. Seems pretty callous... but sometimes it's the truth. (if you haven't noticed... I've been around my share of "lack-luster" women).

correction: "It's fine to see" is "it's plain to see"
omission: [And I should've done you just the same But I came to love you]
the lyrics are correct.
the lyrics are correct.
This songs music video is epic. The meaning is pretty self explanatory. I agree with tayarimoto's interpretation
it's about a successful yet "lonely" dude hopelessly in love with a prostitue
guy in love with a girl who ain't got no dad and she doesnt know how to deal with guys, they probably don't get on with each other so he says that he should have left her, but he loves her so much so he keeps waiting. Or it's about sex. She doesn't want sleep with him, and she keeps him waiting. he should have left her because that is what guys actually do
To me, the song is about a person who is searching for love but can't seem to find it. They date down, even when they know they are dating down, because they are lonely. Too lonely to wait for actual love to come. So the guy is dating this girl he doesn't actually love, but he falls for her anyways. He doesn't even care about her "tearing his heart out'' because he's numb to the pain. All of his relationships 'keep him waiting' on actual love.
I think every single boy can relate to this song :-(
