The song kinda sounds like it's describing some kind of lust/love relationship. Cryptogenic, as a medical term, means that the origin is unknown. So with that the cryptogenic desire part is pretty self explanatory . The desire itself is up for debate...
I get the impression that a lot these songs on Bilateral seem to be dealing with internal conflict of an individual. That is fighting with yourself to discover yourself.
The cryptogenic desires suggests to me that they are know what their desires are NOT, but not necessarily what their desires are.
The last verse to me really suggests the theme of finding yourself (or losing your old inhibitions to be you).
Anyone else get a Dog Fashion Disco vibe off this song? (Esp. compared to their Anarchists of Good Taste album tracks?)
