My Heroine (It's Not Over) Lyrics

I made tonight a memory
I could walk for miles and miles
I left a shadow at her feet
I can see her all alone
the night itself a revelry
I can dream this out for a while
I keep her lost and lock and key
'cause she's just my kind of style.

She takes my hand and leads me in
it is not over
She sets the mood so I begin
and I walk over
She speaks the word to make me grin
can I please have her?
We grab a hold to brace the end
this is what I am speaking of.

I made tonight a memory
yeah, you took me higher and higher
You make it hard for me to leave
but I'm coming back to you.

She takes my hand and leads me in
it is not over
She sets the mood so I begin
and I walk over
She speaks the word to make me grin
can I please have her?
We grab a hold to brace the end
this is what I am speaking of.

I crawled my way back in your head
to hear us speak, and dream again,
to touch your lips from deep within.
A thing like love, and heroine
Across the grave, invite the bends
Carry love when the world ends
Across the way, I'll lose, you win.
You're in my arms, just like the wind

It's not over...

I think this song is about a relationship that has definitely had it's struggles. "I left a shadow at her feet" meaning he is coming up and talking to her as she is sitting down a little upset. They have their struggles but she is his heroine. He is addicted he keeps going back for her. They had a great night together. He crawled his way back in her head, they got over the fight. And now they are just having a night of romance. Maybe I am way off, but that is how it connected with me. The musical composition with the lyrics I think explains and sets the mood perfectly.

Definitely loving this song, probably my favorite off of Love II. It has it's nice intimate moments combined with a nice mainstream rock chorus. I feel like Delonge hit it out of the park with this one.

Does anyone else get the feeling this song is about a very intimate night? Like maybe those last nights before going on tour, his wife showing him the night of his life?

Just saying...

Wouldn't know what that's like. :(

Folks, I strongly think this song is about Heroine, the drug. Common ! Listen to the whole CD... This is poetic all the way this CD, very profound and u've got to read between the lines...

I would bet a lot of money that this "Heroine" is the drug...aaa lot !

I wouldn't say Delonge had tried Heroine....but....listen. Delonge is a genious with the words, and his voice is fantastic.

This is my best cd ever I tell you, those lyrics are very very profound. U've got to read between the lines tought, Delonge is a poet.

The Lyrics on this cd are out of this world !! Delonge can do anything with a talent like that !

From the lyrics :

"A bit like love and heroin" "I cross the grave"

U see, heroin without a "e" at the end here, just like the drug. The title is My Heroine with a "e". He gives more information here I think.

"I cross the grave"....Heroin = DANGER.

Thats my interpretation, listen to the whole cd, he's hiding it well...

Love the title of the cd....but Love for what ? Maybe drug a little bit ??....

I love this song, probably my favorite AVA song. But what is this song about? I beleive that Tom yes was addicted to pain meds because of his back at one time but i dont believe hes ever done heroine. So i think this song is about when you love someone so much and you love their touch its addicting.

Song Meaning

@LaughingJoke21 aaaaand he loves the pain killer pills too, coming off them is a process. Women and drugs are both addicting. I know cause I went through both too. Heroine and the bends reference? definitely talking about both.
