<These lyrics are sorta confusing and almost contradict with 'Back when we had it So easy' >

I'm pretty sure he's saying "I built a shelter from green leaves" and in the chorus I'm hearing "around the fields we'd run with love for everyone dreams we saw with eyes open"

Back when we had it so easy I would surrender completely I built a shelter from green leaves In the sun, in the sun

When we are kids we have it so easy. When we grow up, things get harder. We would surrender completely, because you give yourself freely to everything without judgments.

When we are kids we run around the fields, withtout thinking on anything else. With love for everyone. Of course..kids don't hate, they just love everything, and simply don't like "things". But then you start growing up and that dream changes completely.

So we are confused, because we don't know the world per se. But still we know what to say, which is always the truth, what we thing in our soul. And truth in our soul means love. Thats why we feel just like floating on an inner tube..in the sun.
