"In the Shallows" as written by and Igor Alexandre Haefeli Elena Veronica Tonra....
Let the water rise,
Let the ground crack.
Let me fall inside,
lying on my back
lying on my back

Dry your smoke-stung eyes,
so you can see the light.
staring at the sky
watching stars collide
watching stars collide

If you leave,
When I go...
You'll find me,
in the shallows. (x2)

When the time comes,
on the last day...
when they start to come down,
will you just,
will you run away?
will you run away?

Let it all rain down,
from the blood stained clouds.
Come out, come out, to the sea my love...
and just,
drown with me...
drown with me...

If you leave,
When I go...
You'll find me,
in the shallows. (x2)

Lying on my back,
Lying on my back,
watching stars collide.

General CommentI Love to read others interpretations of songs, especially my favorite(s). And it's interesting to see each one bring it back to Love and relationships and longing pertaining to "Shallows"....as that is what so much of music and Life is about.......but I think that part is secondary and the...just, apocalyptic visuals are truly what the song is about, and the part about the one she loves is in response to the extinction level event taking place, not the ending of or wishing for a personal relationship. And honestly, if you scroll their YouTube live clips Elena will tell you herself before they play it,quite simply...."this song is about the end of the world."
