Philharmonics Lyrics

Guess who died, last night.
In grey stockings, in all might.
It was no loss, the only God of mine.

He fell down, just to drown.
In a sea, of delight
To tame champagne and creatures of the night.

As the water, took him over.
Filled his lungs, inside out.
I sold his gold for flowers and rice.

Speaking fire, he would hire
pawns and peasants, just like me.
To feed upon the conquered ones, but now we are free.

Could be about revolution, particularly the french revolution comes to mind mostly because its a pretty popular one.

I was thinking 'no loss' was actually 'no laws,' as in she worships lawlessness. Not sure if the lyrics up there are from the booklet or not.

The lyrics are actually not from the booklet, I wrote the lyrics up from what I heard. But every other lyric site I can find has 'no loss'. If you do have the booklet and are absolutely certain it says 'no laws' I would be glad to change it.

Her master is dead, she doesn't care beyond moving on and selling his possessions. She knows he would have replaced her without a second thought, but now every other servant and slave under his thumb is free. Joyless, genuine relief.
