Priceless Lyrics
She makes me high the way I want to feel in photographs
Oh every picture I'm gonna burn
Where every smile was a lesson learned
I wanna say
(Break down, all on me)
I'm gonna figure this all out but I don't know how
(Break down, all on me)
I'm only running till I get out
You'll be the reason I'll be uneven
You've got me on the edge to jump for you
You'll be my fire, call me a liar
We'll make mistakes the way we always do
We always do
Now I'm starting every sentence with an apology
What's your reason for leaving now?
Is it too late to follow you out?
I wanna say
(Break down, all on me)
I'm gonna figure this out but I don't know how
(Break down, all on me)
I don't wanna be selfish
But would it kill you to be a little more precise and more polite when you speak?
You'll be the reason I'll be uneven
You've got me on the edge to jump for you
You'll be my fire, call me a liar
We'll make mistakes the way we always do
When we both need each other, these moments are priceless
And I'm starting to gather up my confidence just for you
You'll be the reason I'll be uneven
Covered in glass and lying on the floor
You'll be the brightest star in the sky
Sing me a song and tell me who it's for.
You'll the reason I'll be uneven
You've got me on the edge to jump for you
You'll be the brightest star in the sky
We'll make mistakes the way we always do.

this fits perfectly in my life <3 I think it's about a relationship that has always been so perfect, but they're starting to have problems. The singer is trying to compensate and do everything to save these "Priceless" moments, but a relationship just doesn't work if one person isn't working within it. Idk, maybe my personal connection is getting in the way, but i see it as this desperate attempt to save seemingly perfect relationship <3
Was it perfect? Did you hold her; touch her; dance with her; and laugh with her as you looked into her eyes? If you did than you're fortunate. If you didn't than there was no relationship...just a cruel dream. And all dreams come to an end. Good song, though

this song is quite different to the other Mayday parade songs. primarily because it shows the persona in a sense of power,in contrast to the usual 'without you I'll be miserable.' 'you'll be the reason, I'll be uneven;' this may be Derek implying that if the two were to break up it would be her fault. however, as the song continues, it becomes filled with declarative; this may be Derek drawing attention to his fairly unique situation.

I think this song is about a very passionate relationship that had a lot of troubles ("You'll be my fire, call me a liar"). Both the guy and the girl seemed to feel very deeply ("You'll be the reason I'll be uneven, you've got me on the edge to jump for you"). He would've done anything (jumped) for her but she left for some reason and he didn't want her to go ("What's your reason for leaving now? Is it too late to follow you out?"). It was troubled from the start ("We'll make mistakes the way we always do") but they needed each other and the good moments to get through their lives ("When we both need each other, these moments are Priceless").
