Be Concerned

I think he is talking about doubt in God. He references the Bible a few times "Jonah" and "You are the pearl, I am the swine" are the main examples.

He is saying to be concerned because he fools everyone into thinking that he has this strong faith "Sorry Mr. Gullibe", but he is on the edge of being done with his faith.

He goes through some reasons involved in this: to devote a single inch to something i can't see. But with the reasons there are some feelings of it "I'm scared of my own head" "you are the pearls, I am the swine" That last quote I think refers to either his reasoning of help me cause I'm the swine, or of I am sorry I doubted because you are a pearl and I am a swine.

I think that he is talking about doubting his faith in God. He is religious, and as a Christian I understand that we all have our doubts. We will become like any other atheist wondering why we would believe. But we all come back to God and the divine intervention gets into place.

"So break my life and take this rhyme I'm so sorry, but I do believe"

These lines are so important to the revelation of the song because it shows that he is coming back and wants forgiveness for his doubting. He talks to God, giving his life away, and the rhyme will inspire many in the future

i'm not religious so ive interpretated this differently... I think this is about calling out for help when being depressed but everyone is leaving and not helping "Where'd you go, huh?" "It's so hard to motivate me To devote a single inch of me" I think those two lines are about how difficult everything is without motivation, being depressed, you have to try really hard but not "a single inch" of you is willing to do what is needed without motivation: which he is lacking. Moreover, "Living lives we can't manage" is saying how dealing with the depression without motivation to do anything or even live is difficult. H owever "I try to say goodbye," shows he cannot bring himself to commit suicide so instead denys his feelings and fears although he knows the truth "And deny what it is I'm fearing Clearly I am dying". He continues to deny his emotions when asked "I'm lying, 'cause I say I am fine" even though he is obviously not "fine"

Sorry this was a long, negative and not necessarily correct interpretation but I'm not religious and "All of us relate if it's Something we've just been through"

i'm sorry but I just REALLY feel the need to point out that in the first verse the word is actually 'pry' and not 'cry'

I don't know if this makes sense to anyone else but for me this song is about the way music can help you through feeling lonely feeling misunderstood and feeling worthless (having depression) music is a way to express your emotions and music can also help you through some hard times for me this song is exactly about it

Tyler's searching for his faith. He was in a dark time during the release of this album - Skeleton Clique, back me up - and he's using music as his outlet.

He feels lost and abandoned by his adopted higher power, and so he's looking for the God that he's put his faith into. He's afraid of abandonment, he feels worthless, and he's scared he's passed some point of no return.

i know that the actual song has something to do with religion but since im not that religious i just think about this:

the person talking feels alone. they feel like everyone is disappointed in them. as some people try and reach out and help them and connect o them they just push away. because (as said in the next verse) they dont feel anyone can actually relate to what they are saying and they can relate to anyone else around them.

im not so sure what test he is talking about in the last verse but flying means dying and becoming an angel or something
