Rows of Houses Lyrics
Packing father
Tin can, shooter,
Makes us ready
He lies in waiting
And I hope we find him
Before they find him
Ooooooh, ooooooh, ooooooh,
Oooooooh,
So I tell stories
Make my friends tick
They like me for it
So bring on the papers
‘Cause we’re ready for ‘em
What makes us ready?
Ooooooh oooooh, oooooh,
ooooooh,
The sight of Brower
The taste of something
The thought of houses,
Rows of houses
The sight of Brower
The taste of something,
The thought of houses,
Rows of Houses
Rows of houses
Rows...
Tin can, shooter,
Makes us ready
He lies in waiting
And I hope we find him
Before they find him
Oooooooh,
Make my friends tick
They like me for it
So bring on the papers
‘Cause we’re ready for ‘em
What makes us ready?
ooooooh,
The taste of something
The thought of houses,
Rows of houses
The taste of something,
The thought of houses,
Rows of Houses
Rows of houses
Rows...

I saw him play this a few times live and he said it was based on the movie Stand By Me, just like drice said. If you watch the music video its pretty obvious that its themes are the nostalgia for something small town, something better while the world is changing and homogenizing (especially around the characters from Stand By Me). He said before he played it live at the Orpheum that Its about the ennui and inescapabilty of the drudge and grind of everyday suburban life.
this song is based off of the movie "stand by me"
absolutely brilliant
