Space Babe Lyrics

Time, taking its time
to land through the sky
I'd be there by now
to see where you live

If it were up to me
If it were up to me
If it were up to me
I'd never leave

To go, to not see
How you live here
Without me

If it were up to me
If it were up to me
If it were up to me
I'd never leave

I'm not sure i get the meaning, but it's a great song, one of my favorites from this album.

I think this song could possibly be from a dead person's perspective... She(considering that the title is Space BABE) probably just passed on to the 'next realm' which can be somewhere in heaven ("to land through the sky"). She loves someone and because she's now dead, she has no choice but to leave her lover despite not wanting to do so. So she just watches over him from above. ("If it were up to me I'd never leave.")

"To go, to not see How you live here Without me" This is the saddest part of the song. Post-death, she probably wonders how her lover is gonna cope without her or will he be okay?

When I first listened to this song, I got hooked to it's bouncy, dreaminess without analysing the lyrics yet. The intro felt as if I'm in space and just floating around in my own world. Cute music but with some sad lyrics...
