I Need A Doctor

I think its pretty obvious! Its all about love - hate relationships, i think most of us can relate to it

as what i've noticed to most of The Drums lyrics is this silly kind of sadness or this perpetual uncertainty of this person to the one he loves. It’s like the story of Tom Hansen of 500 days of summer when he fell madly in love with Summer Finn but he still can’t be sure if he’s the one for her.

It’s like a one sided attraction and the other party just wanna mess around to the extend you want to smash her/him with a baseball bat. Maybe that’s the reason why I get hooked with their tracks as I had this roller coaster kind of romance with my crush but he still don’t wanna commit and just keeps on playing around with somebody else’s heart. It sounds cheesy and sad but it’s true.

The Drums are one of these bands I could talk my whole life about. Their lyrics are so silly and kind of easy written, but I always think there's something deep behind them.

And this song is (in my view) obviously about a pedophile. I mean "You're like a child and I like that" and also the title itself "I need a doctor". It's the first thing I thought when I've listened to it. It's about a person who fell in love with a child and "it's such a stupid thing but" he "likes that." And even if he is aware of that it is a wrongdoing he can't stop his feelings. And there are always signs that this love isn't good for him, because it's a crime. For example: "You’re always pushing me so close to death" "But you torture me And you ruin me"

Of course it could be about a normal love affair but this thought always crosses my mind when I'm listening to this song. And hell I really don't know what's meant with that tambourine shit... BUT I LIKE THAAAAAT.
