Goose & Gander Lyrics

I could sleep for days
I don't miss the sun
I don't need to know
if that's the worst of it (That's not the worst of it)
It's not that you can't get in good
If I don't pick up the phone
It's just that it won't get better 'til you leave me alone

I can't feel a thing
I don't think I want to
Is it worth the wait?
Is that the price you pay? (That's not the worst of it)
It's not that you can't get in good
If you don't do it on your own
It's just that it won't get better 'til you leave me alone

I know sometimes you gotta live in the dark
We can't stand each other but we can't be apart
I don't think I really want to live on my own
But I know that it won't get better 'til you leave me alone

I don't want to see you
You take me to that hole in the ground
Ruin all those songs for me
And is that the worst of it? (That's not the worst if it)
It's not that you can't get in good
If I don't pick up the phone
It's just that it won't get better 'til you leave me alone

I know sometimes you gotta live in the dark
We can't stand each other but we can't be apart
I don't think I'm gonna make it out on my own
But it won't get better 'til you leave me alone

I think it's about a mutual breakup. For whatever reason the relationship has reached it's end but they still communicate. This communication kills him and the only way it will get better is if they don't talk. "It's just that it won't get better 'til you leave me alone".

Also the line, "We can't stand each other but we can't be apart", clearly indicates they want to be away from each other but can't do it because of how attached they are.

S/he wants to be left alone. Perhaps s/he's tired of being used; lied to; led on; laughed at; and cast aside. Interesting song. I suppose its title has to do with following in the other's footsteps. What's good for one is good for the other, correct.
