This makes no sense, this makes no sense
This makes no sense, this make no
This makes no sense, this makes no sense
This makes no sense, this make no

This makes no sense, this makes no sense
This makes no sense, this make no
This makes no sense, this makes no sense
This makes no sense, this make no
This makes no sense, this makes no sense
This makes no sense, this make no

This air is too thick to breath, so just drive
These eyes are too sick too see, don't leave me behind
Something's swimming in my blood, somethings rotting in my brain
I'm smothered from the flood, I can't recognize you face
I need to leave, so just drive

Burning lights on the street, fight, fighting the gravity
(Fight, fighting the gravity, fight, fighting the gravity)
When I'm beat and defeated, they'll take you away from me
(They'll take you away from me, they'll take you away from me)
I'm getting lost in a dream, yes, this is the last time
(Yes, this is the last time, yes, this is the last time)
I'm always fighting the gravity

Tonight is too much for me to get through
Tomorrow's just a darkened hall to an empty room
When I'm far away from you

Burning lights on the street, fight, fighting the gravity
(Fight, fighting the gravity, fight, fighting the gravity)
When I'm beat and defeated, they'll take you away from me
(They'll take you away from me, they'll take you away from me)
I'm getting lost in a dream, yes, this is the last time
(Yes, this is the last time, yes, this is the last time)
I'm always fighting the gravity

I'm always fighting the gravity
This makes no sense, this makes no sense
This makes no sense, this make no
This makes no sense, this makes no sense
This makes no sense, this make no

This makes no sense, this makes no sense
This makes no sense, this make no
This makes no sense, this makes no sense
This makes no sense, this make no

Fighting the gravity might mean fighting something depressing, as gravity pulls one down. Most lines of this song have a symbolic/metaphorical meaning to them, so it would prob make sense to go through each of them in detail, but I'm too lazy ^^ Overall I think the song describes a relationship where one has so much anger towards the other for some reason, that his perception of that person has changed dramatically. Basically he has lost faith in that person and is unable to recognize whatever good he saw before. The way I get his only option is to get away from that person and set his mind on something else, otherwise dwelling further on his anger. This means distancing himself even more from the person he really wants to be close to. Basically it's a fucked up dilemma which leads to frustration and maybe resignation as he cannot make sense of the whole situation. So I think fighting the gravity means fighting the depression resulting from this frustration and also fighting whatever negative feelings towards the other person in the relationship exist.

This has nothing to do with the lyrics, I just wanted to remark that the hrmonies during the 'this makes no sense' parts sound really cool, always give me the chills ^^

Gadjits, The
He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could.

Techno Ted

Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
