You were dead
By the time that I had found you
Your blood was spilled
On the couch where we had first kissed
So I carried you west
To the sea so I could wash you
Your body felt just like a back pack
And I don't know
What they did to your face
And I don't like it
You lived large
Til the day they finally caught you
They cut out your tongue so you would not scream
When you came to
And you pissed blood
And then they chained you up
When you turned blue
Your body felt just like a T-shirt
And I wanna build a tower
To all the nicer things you could have been
But I don't like it
*Ahhs*
You were dead
By the time that I had found you
By the time that I had found you
Your blood was spilled
On the couch where we had first kissed
So I carried you west
To the sea so I could wash you
What they did to your face
And I don't like it
Til the day they finally caught you
They cut out your tongue so you would not scream
When you came to
And you pissed blood
And then they chained you up
When you turned blue
To all the nicer things you could have been
But I don't like it
By the time that I had found you

Echoing 'heartbreaking'. My mouth is all twisted up listening to this.
This song is heart breaking.
I've heard that the song is about the american flag and what's been done to what it represents.
this is one of the most haunting songs i've ever heard in my life
wowowowow
i had someone who enjoyed me but i was not in the place to enjoy anyone. i wish i could have sent him this song.
for me i interpret this song like someone trying to save someone who's already dead. but not as literal as dead. maybe depressed.
maybe this makes no sense but personally i feel as if someone trying to save me by carrying me to the sea to wash me would just be like carrying a backpack. just a dead weight.
and however anyone else interprets this is correct. whatever something means to you is correct.
have a beautiful life.
