In the Garden Lyrics

birds sing songs and
wake the dreamers
from their sorrow
force while raining (???)
crying bye bye sweet fried chicken
and the platter
glides away

in the moonlight
in the moonlight
we don't hear the
water running
down the stream of
all the people
there is no one
ever coming

I lay on my side
I lay on my side
you was laying right beside me
and the stars
they was coming
and blinking
tenderly

little lightning bugs
time and time again
down and dashing
all around us
and a shooting
star come flashing
never making
not a bit of fuss

sometime we walk in song
that the moon was going
from the left side to the right side
and the columns of mist was rising
looked like friends of mine
who have died

in the moonlight
in the moonlight
we don't hear the
water running
down the stream of
all the people
there is no one
ever coming

Cover art for In the Garden lyrics by Michael Hurley

Close. I play with Michael, and have asked him for the lyrics to this song. I have a few corrections:

1st verse, the line is: Birds sing songs that wake the dreamers From their sorrowful soirée

2nd & 6th verse: In the moonlight, in the moonlight We don't hear but Water running

4th verse: Little lightning bugs, little lightning bugs Dot and dashing all around us

5th verse: Sometime we woke and saw That the moon had gone From the left side to the right side

Important for the meaning to get all the little details. Thanks!
