Häxprocess Lyrics
A dying wish shun a God
Sought a dream inside the light
Finally relieved from plight
One eternal Winter
Earth below and reeling
Moon is riding high
One forgotten season
Secrets in the mire
Moor is riding high
Waiting for you
When words can't win her
There is nothing to do
Drenched in poverty
Tracks in the snow
Leading them to woe
This song does not have anything to do with hacking as a previous user surmised. The word häxprocess literally translates to "witch trial" in Swedish. The meaning may be as literal as that - a song about a witch trial. But I think it could also be a play on what most think of when hearing the phrase "witch trial" - someone wrongfully accused of something of assumed guilty of something and sentenced to death without a fair trial. The man in the song was perhaps betrayed or abandoned by someone he loves because of something he was wrongly accused of doing. I don't know, it's just a guess. But it's a truly great song.
"A lifeline in a drop of blood": i don't agree with the opinion that ths line's about ancestry. he says "lifeline," not "lifetime." i think he's bleeding the last drop of blood that has kept him alive. "A dying wish to shun a God": hopes god/heaven don't exist, because he's concerned about all the bad things he's done in his life. "Sought a dream inside the light": made a dying wish as he "sees the light" "Finally relieved from plight": finally over.
i'm less sure about what the rest of the song's about. i really like the lines "Tracks in the snow / Leading them to woe." to me, he's describing the children's last trek. they either discover something terrible or something terrible happens to them.
It's about the Assassin's Creed franchise of videogames, which Mikael enjoys playing while listening to Judas Priest and Alice Cooper.
You see, from the point of view of the main character, first he mentions how you have the memories of your ancestors inside you (lifeline in a drop of blood) and how the discoveries concerning the pieces of eden are affecting his religiousness (a dying wish to shun a god). He keeps in the animus, bound by the need of sync (sought a dream inside the light) but at the same time he's relieved from the troubles in RL (finally relieved from plight) and so on and on. And the title (witch trial), it's an obvious nod towards the templars, who are the main antagonists.
Hey it could be, couldn't it.
i could be wrong but the song has to do with a process of sorts. most likely hacking. the last verse tells me it may have african children in it. but the song also has snow so its a paradox. bad songwriting on mikaels part.
