These Days Lyrics

These days

I've been out walking
I don't do too much talking these days
These days
These days I seem to think a lot
About the things that I forgot to do
And all the times I've had the chance to

I quit my gambling
I don't do too much rambling these days
These days
These days I seem to think about
How all the changes came about my way
And I wonder if I'll see another highway

I had a lover
I don't think I'd risk another these days
These days
And if I seem to be afraid
To live the life that I have made in song
It's just that I've been losing so long

I'd stop my dreaming
I won't do too much scheming these days
These days
These days I sit on corner stones
And count the time the quarter turns to ten
Please don't confront me with my failures
Cause I had never forgot them.

Cover art for These Days lyrics by This Is My Suitcase

Its "how these changes came about my way" not "how all the changes came about my way," "So I don't think I'll risk another" not I don't think I'd risk another," "and I don't do too much scheming these days" not "I won't do too much scheming these days," and this last one has always baffled me but I do believe its "These days I sit on corner stones and count my in QUARTER TONES today." The "quarter tones" but it is definitely "count my time in ____ today" not "count the time the quarter turns to ten"
