Elephants and Little Girls Lyrics

Let’s walk together
Let’s run together
We’ll ride on the back of an elephant
I’ll hold its tail you hold the tears back
I’ll hold its tail you hold the tears back

And we’ll go somewhere warmer
And we’ll go somewhere new (la la la la la)
And we’ll go somewhere warmer
And we’ll go somewhere new (la la la la la)

Now we’re having fun (now we’re having fun)
Now we’re living life (now we’re living life)
Now we’re having fun (now we’re having fun)
Now we’re living life (now we’re living life)

Let’s jump together
Let’s do this together
We’ll ride on the neck of a girl
I’ll hold her hand you hold her hair back
I’ll hold her hand you hold her hair back

Look at the skin around your eyes
Watch the skin around your eyes (la la la la la)
Watch the skin around your eyes
Look at the skin around your eyes (la la la la la)

Now she’s having fun (now she’s having fun)
Now she’s living life (now she’s living life)
Now she’s having fun (now she’s having fun)
Now she’s living life (now she’s living life)

This song is so beautiful. I can't believe no one has commented on it yet. I just discovered it after listening to it on a commercial haha. I really would love to know the meaning of the lyrics. I'm really bad at interpreting lyrics, so hopefully someone will add some insight. :)

@Rickii

My interpretation is that it is about a couple's journey in life. In the beginning he proposes to have a (long term) relationship “Let's run together" And to discover new things "And we'll go somewhere warmer" "And we'll go somewhere new" She accepts be with him in a relationship: "Now we're having fun" "Now we're living life" After this point a second proposal comes: "Let's jump together". The “jump” is a very important decision, after taking it they cannot change it. I assume the decision is to have a baby (a girl). “Look at the skin around your eyes” --> Look at your wrinkles;...

My interpretation is that it is about a couple's journey in life. In the beginning he proposes to have a (long term) relationship “Let's run together" And to discover new things "And we'll go somewhere warmer" "And we'll go somewhere new" She accepts to be with him in a relationship: "Now we're having fun" "Now we're living life" After this point a second proposal comes: "Let's jump together". The “jump” is a very important decision, after taking it they cannot change it. I assume the decision is to have a baby (a girl). “Look at the skin around your eyes” --> Look at your wrinkles; we have grown up old together. “Now she's having fun” --> She here refers to the girl their daughter. Now it is their daughter who is discovering life, living her own experiences. I am not sure about the meaning of the elephant… I haven’t ride an elephant… Maybe you cannot control it completely. So you intend to go somewhere but the elephant takes its time to start walking, then it walks slowly, goes off the road sometimes, but finally you go somewhere near from where you wanted to go in the first place. That’s life. And the two of them were riding the elephant together… so they are in the journey together.
