Dead Throne Lyrics

What you hold dear is a false account.
What you hold dear offers no salvation. (salvation)
Trust in that I’m not right for this. (for this)
Know that I’m not the one to hold you up. (hold you up)
I can’t hold you. I can’t hold you.

Dead throne (dead throne), we’ve put the world up onto a dead throne.
Dead throne (dead throne), we’ve put the world up onto a dead throne.

She will slip... slip away. You will see your downfall.

Dead throne (dead throne), we’ve put the world up onto a dead throne.
Dead throne, we’ve put the world onto a dead throne.

I am guilty, I have fallen: There are things that have come between you and me.
I’m so sorry (I’m so sorry): Let all be put to shame who serve carved images.

We’ve put the world on a dead throne. We’ve put the world on a dead throne.

My interpretation of the song Dead Throne by TDWP; What you hold dear is a false account. People buying the CD and suppose it will help them from the struggles they are facing. What you hold dear offers no salvation. (salvation) The same again.. Mike is saying the music wont offer any salvation for the people Trust in that I'm not right for this. (for this) Mike says hes not the right person to support people and hes not the one to go to when they struggle with something Know that I'm not the one to hold you up. (hold you up) pretty self-explanatory I can't hold you. I can't hold you.

Dead throne (dead throne), here they are referencing to the throne on the album cover We've put the world up onto a dead throne. what he means by this is putting all materialism and idolatry onto the throne Dead throne (dead throne), We've put the world up onto a dead throne.

She will slip, slip away. I`m not sure but i think this is referencing to his ex-girlfriend he broke up with even though they have been together for five years You will see your downfall. The people will realize all their materialistic needs and desire to idolize people ( like they idolize Mike) will bring them down

Dead throne (dead throne), We've put the world up onto a dead throne. Dead throne, we've put the world onto a dead throne.

I am guilty, I have fallen Mike is feeling guilt for something he either have done or said There are things that have come between you and me. The fans are starting to realize that Mike is not the one they thought he were and they start having something against him I'm so sorry (I'm so sorry) Mike is feeling sorry for not being able to help people in their time of need Let all be put to shame who serve carved images. Mike puts shame on the people who idolize or is addicted to some material need ( like money or food etc.)

We've put the world on a dead throne. Look above ^^ We've put the world on a dead throne. This concludes my interpretation of this song, i am probably a bit off but this is just how i look at this song.

I believe the lyrics to be about people falling into Idolatry. To me, it seems as if Mike sees that people idolize him for being in TDWP and isn't comfortable with the idea that people idolize him when he believes that people should direct their attention to god "Trust in that I'm not right for this. (for this) Know that I'm not the one to hold you up. (hold you up) I can't hold you. I can't hold you."

People hold dear to them really materialistic things when (in mikes eyes) only jesus christ should be worshipped. he even asks for forgiveness because he falls victim to it as well "I am guilty, I have fallen: There are things that have come between you and me. I'm so sorry (I'm so sorry): Let all be put to shame who serve carved images."

i reference god a lot because i know mike and the rest of tdwp are devout christians so, at least to me, this makes sense with the overall theme of the album (anti idolatry and love lost). hope this helped anyone !
