Returned from the depths
Of choking regret
Up crumbling steps
And borrowed cigarettes
I smoked all of yours
Now I need some more
I'm endlessly swelling
With no way of telling
How All Possibility's King
Begat that baby boy in a sling
Did I delve too deep
When there was nothing to find
Into what things step
Into malcontent minds

Reading her letter

Just like she thought
Unfettered somehow

Because reprieve has descended

There safe from sorrow's throws
So a souring on sour songs
On counting up all the wrongs
Documenting misery
In a catchy eulogy
A wonderful funeral it might have been
But shoulder your shovels
This isn't the end
Where all wanted of anyone to say was
I know it's hard
You're lying in shards
Of the doubt which you're wrought
A crime and a shame
But don't stay here and rot
