Say Say Say Lyrics
For any time I felt like punching out.
Anyone who passed as I fell down.
Well any time I've wondered how much pain can I endure without letting all the blood flow out.
For any time I've tried to hold her hand, just to watch her move away.
For all those nights I would drink until I found the guts to speak
And then threw them up all over the place.
Can I just say how worth the wait it's been.
Can I just say that I would do this again.
Because now I know what happens in the end is that maybe I would leave them all instead.
For any time I've looked inside myself and seen a big, black void of emptiness.
For all those nights I outline my life passions to wish that I was memory less.
Can I just say how worth the wait it's been.
Can I just say that I would do this again.
Because now I know what happens in the end, so maybe I would burn them all instead.
And now you say, say, say would you just stay, stay, stay.
There is a point to all this, there's a point to me.
There's a home I have made in your heart as it beats
And to it's rhythm I will sing do do do do do.
Can I just say how worth the wait it's been.
Can I just say that I would do this again.
Because now I know I have you in the end, so maybe I would burn them all instead.
Anyone who passed as I fell down.
Well any time I've wondered how much pain can I endure without letting all the blood flow out.
For any time I've tried to hold her hand, just to watch her move away.
For all those nights I would drink until I found the guts to speak
And then threw them up all over the place.
Can I just say that I would do this again.
Because now I know what happens in the end is that maybe I would leave them all instead.
For all those nights I outline my life passions to wish that I was memory less.
Can I just say that I would do this again.
Because now I know what happens in the end, so maybe I would burn them all instead.
There is a point to all this, there's a point to me.
There's a home I have made in your heart as it beats

I believe this song is written about his wife and how their relationship has kept him from committing suicide and given his life meaning. He talks about how he contemplated suicide frequently (letting all the blood flow out), until he met his wife. His wife has made everything better in his life and given some kind of meaning to the suffering he's endured (Can I just say how worth the wait it's been? / Can I just say that I would do this again?). She's convincing him to stay with her, or keep from committing suicide because their lives have meaning now, they love each other, and she doesn't want to lose him (And now you say, say, say would you just stay, stay, stay. / There is a point to all this, there's a point to me. / There's a home I have made in your heart as it beats). Dan would endure everything that he has if he had to do it all over again (Because now I know I have you in the end).
I forgot to add that I just LOVE this song. I think it is one of the most beautiful songs ever written about suicide/love.
