trying to analyze Malkmus lyrics is a futile effort, because I feel like they're really just how the words/phrases sound together rather than what they're supposed to say. that said, the first two lines seem pretty politically charged, especially considering that this song follows "Senator."
that said, I love the shit out of this song.
