Charlyne Lyrics
Behind every single heartbeat
is another unsung malady
You don't know, but you hum along like you do
Play the fool
You thought you could learn to love me and rule me
and hide all your sorrows in a Harley
and get all your kicks off acting crazy
When push comes to love,
you just ain't strong enough to let it go
Before you know it,
you're wrapped up in her web
Before you know it,
you're way in over your head
Before you know it,
you're finally in her bed
In the middle of the night,
in the middle of the street,
and you tear your hair
and you burn your sheets
Screaming
Charlyne, Charlyne! (x4)
and I always play the fool for Charlyne
is another unsung malady
You don't know, but you hum along like you do
Play the fool
and hide all your sorrows in a Harley
and get all your kicks off acting crazy
When push comes to love,
you just ain't strong enough to let it go
you're wrapped up in her web
you're way in over your head
you're finally in her bed
in the middle of the street,
and you tear your hair
and you burn your sheets
Charlyne, Charlyne! (x4)
and I always play the fool for Charlyne

a few corrections good sir: Behind every single heartbeat is another unsung malady *That you don't know, but you hum along like you do" You play the fool
hide all your sorrows in the parties before you know it you're wrapped up in her web before you know it you're finally in her bed
I agree with all of that except "fallin' in her bed" sounds nothing like 'finally' and makes more sense in the context of following "wrapped up in her web" and "way in over your head" ...loss of control–not a long awaited place to be

I'm hearing some things slightly differently but your edit gave me some more insight. I'll leave it like this for now.
For the first line in the second verse i think its:
you thought you could learn to love being lonely
