I see this song as being someone who always is finding love but moves onto other loves often, which is why she speaks of her love so tenderly but then says "Every several years this song expires"
if youre addicted to someone's love albeit good or bad, this song speaks volumes. let's take an affair for example - two individuals involved have limited time together and when the opportunity presents itself, it can be explosive, addicting like a drug that you must obtain again. affairs by society's judging is wrong but this person doesn't seem to believe so bc she/he is driven by her/his learned behavior that she/he needs someone in order to have love (even if it means to be involved in an affair).
