Crocodile Woman (She Bites) Lyrics

Keep away from that hard-looking woman
Don't be fooled by her crocodile smile
She uses charm like a witch casting bad spells
You can't see what I can see for miles

I know she'll leave you with no self-respect
Builds you up only to destroy you
It'll happen at a time you won't expect
Don't let her leave you 'reject'

[Chorus:]
Sly girl, good timer, she's just a social climber
She bites
Entice, so nice, but you have to pay the price
She bites

She'll take away everything that you've got
Leaving you cold when you think things are hot
Bad kind, no good, making up her own rules
Be on your guard, boy, if she loses her cool

[Chorus 2x]

[Verse 1]

[Chorus 2x]
She bites, she bites, she bites

Cover art for Crocodile Woman (She Bites) lyrics by Hollies, The

One of their lesser known songs. It's about a dangeous broad. And at this time in history women were faced with so many stereotypes (unfair ones). I am sadly old enough to recall when a woman could not be raped by her husband; incest (of girls) was often swept under the rug for the sake of the family unit; incest of boys meant the boy must be gay; prostitutes couldn't be raped by anyone; career women were supposedly lesbians or in the least hard; divorcees were marked scandlous women; etc. This song may be straightforward (the woman really is a pariah). I hope it is, but I have some unpleasant memories from growing up when I did.
