Revere's Tears Lyrics

George Revere has lost his life
He has no idea that he has died
They found the body with the eyes open wide

His medical breakthrough raised red flags
And let the healing cat out of the bag
Fixed in a stare no one knows that he's there
Committed to secrets he'll reveal to heal despair

Put these madmen in their place
Keep them quiet, simplify the human race
Dying is a business that cannot be replaced

His medical breakthrough raised red flags
Just pack him up and ship him out inside a black bag
Fixed in a stare no one knows that he's there
Committed to secrets he'll reveal to heal
At least the pain is over

Did you thin they'd pray you slipped away?
Utilizing inside skill murder was employed
When he was killed.

(solo Jaeger)

George Revere has been denied
The last request a moral to exemplify
Do not try to save their lives

Cover art for Revere's Tears lyrics by World Under Blood

"George Revere was a genius doctor who had privately discovered a treatment for most forms of cancer in his basement, while his wife suffered from the disease. He administered her treatment, and she went into immediate remission when suddenly George was found dead in his home. Murdered. You can't find him on the internet, you can't even google the guy. He has pretty much disappeared along with his wife, Estelle who hasn't been heard from in years. The perfect song to "end" the album...Revere's Tears is based upon the theory that if you do discover a cure for cancer, you will either be privately bought out, or killed. I think it's interesting that we've been collecting a lot of money through charities for years, and we have yet to cure anything, from the cold, to A.I.D.S, diabetes, cancer, warts...you name it. But we're always "so close" aren't we? I wrote this song with CKY's Jess Margera about 12 years ago, and i always thought it would have been great as the 9th track on Gorguts' "The Erosion of Sanity," which is one of my favorite records of all time. It's changed a lot since Jess and I wrote it...killer bridge section." - Deron Miller
