Purgatory Dormitory Lyrics
Lights out
Before you even knew that
They discovered that your alibi is a lie
You come to within a room
Without a clue of what's inside
Silence then a scream
Fused to an artificial respiration machine
Up on the second floor paralyzed with blinded eyes
You cannot rid you of yourself or of all of those surrounding you
Punishment they all say has fit the crime
Deep in your mind will be your former glory
In the purgatory dormitory
(solo Jaeger)
Anesthetic local removing cords of vocals cannot speak
Notice that your hearing's stifled,
Extinguished explanations that you seek
Every nerve submerged in procaine
In every vein
Now you're just a brain...
Up on the second floor paralyzed with blinded eyes
You cannot rid you of yourself or of all of those surrounding you
Punishment they all say has fit the crime
Deep in your mind will be your former glory
In the purgatory dormitory
Laden with guilt and injected with shame
You don't know the names of these empowered saints you blame
Can't feel the cold, cannot feel the flames
Cannot feel the presence of your body's weakened frame
(solo Jaeger)
Up on the second floor paralyzed with blinded eyes
You cannot rid you of yourself or of all of those surrounding you
Punishment they all say has fit the crime
Deep in your mind will be your former glory
In the purgatory dormitory

"This was the last song written for Tactical and when i heard the demo i was worried that it was going to be the album's only throwaway track. Once we laid it down for the record, it turned into one of my favorites. It's about numbing every nerve in a criminal's body, blinding and deafening them, and leaving them with just their brain... to think and to suffer. What would that be like? I think that we should experiment on rapists and murderers and find out all the things we've ever wanted to know about the human body...much like the medical field experiments on rats and other animals. We could correct and cure a lot of diseases and problems if we started using worthless humans as the subjects. Non-stop speed and brutality. not much melody this time. fine with me." - Deron Miller
