Ruby I hope I see you, I've waited all this week
For you to walk my way, your soul will capture me
Your momma painted your room a shade of pink, she said
But with your great arrival that shade has turned to red

Ruby take my hand, please lead me to the promised land
Tell me, where am I from, your eyes say, shada de da dum
Ruby, you're royalty, in your home land, they all call you queen
Tell me, where are you from, your eyes say, shada de da dum

You're an angel fallen down, won't you tell us of the clouds
You have fallen from the sky, how high, how high?
You're an angel fallen down, won't you tell us of the clouds
You have fallen from the sky, how high, how high?

You're true and pure
You hold the cure
We're all diseased
You hold the key

You're an angel fallen down, won't you tell us of the clouds
You have fallen from the sky, how high, how high?

(Hey) tell our dad, I'm sorry (hey)
(Hey) tell our dad, I'm sorry (hey)
(Hey) tell our dad, I'm sorry (hey)
(Hey) tell our dad, I'm sorry (hey)
(Hey) tell our dad, I'm sorry (hey)
(Hey) tell our dad, I'm sorry (hey)
(Hey) tell our dad, I'm sorry (hey)

You're an angel
You're an angel
You're an angel (hey, hey, hey, hey)
You're an angel (hey, hey, hey)
You're an angel

Tell our dad, I'm sorry
Tell our dad, I'm sorry
Tell our dad, I'm sorry, yeah

(You're an angel) (hey, hey, hey, hey)
(You're an angel) (hey, hey, hey, hey)

    My Interpretation

I always thought the song was about divorce. "Ruby, I hope I see you I've waited all this week for you to walk my way" this lyric would be from the perspective of Ruby's dad, talking about how it was his week for Ruby to come over, hence the "I've waited all this week," which would be about him waiting while it was her mom's week to have her. "Your momma painted your room a shade of pink, she said" these lyrics kind of are talking about, well, Ruby's room being red, and with the "shade of pink, she said" notice the "she said" kind of meaning the dad himself didn't see it, because he doesn't live with Ruby's mom because they are divorced. "Ruby, take my hand, please lead me to the promise land" this part to me sounds like the dad would be stressed, but when Ruby comes over, she leads him to the promise land. "You're an angel fallen down won't you tell us of the clouds you have fallen from the sky how high, how high?" now the song is talking about how the father thinks she's an angel, and he just wants to listen to her. "You're true and pure you hold the cure we're all diseased you hold the key" I feel like this means how the mom and dad are fighting over stuff, hence the "we're all diseased" and Ruby is the thing that makes them happy, also with the "you hold the key". And the "tell your dad I'm sorry" is just the mom wanting Ruby to tell her father she's sorry for fighting. But whatever it really means, it's a still a great song. And this is just my own interpretation, I'm not saying this is what it really means.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
