Eh, could be about tourism and how void of meaning it is - considering the bit about museum steps and carrying shit on your hips. The last part would sort of support this as well - the way that tourists sometimes (often) come back to their home with this delusion that they want to live in the place they visited.

Incredible song, especially the last part. Scares the shit out of me.
