Could be about having to be brave in the face of thinking of suicide after a break up. I think it's cool because this could be a break up song which is disguised as following the theme of this album by relating it to responsibility, a common theme in the other songs.
I really like this song. I think it could be about a relationship that he wants to end, but he doesn't want to end it. There are a lot of reasons why he wants it to end, but he also doesn't want to hurt her. If she ends it, he will feel justified in speaking his thoughts. Others around them see it's not a healthy relationship and are telling her to end it, too. I don't know if this is true but I've seen it happen enough in life to know that it's a somewhat common game.
