Action Is My Middle Name Lyrics
Biting my initials into your neck
You are my possession, you don't realise yet
Am I moving too fast for you?
Am I beginning to confuse you?
Action is my middle name
I can't waste time any more
Everybody has a date with an undertaker
A date that they cannot break
Tongue against tongue and we've only just begun
Could I interest you in hours of fun?
Am I moving too fast for you?
Am I beginning to confuse you?
Action is my middle name
I can't waste time any more
Everybody has a date with an undertaker
A date that they cannot break
Am I moving too fast?
Am I moving too fast?
Am I moving too fast for you?
Action is my middle name
I can't waste time any more
Everybody has a date with an undertaker
A date that they cannot break
Action is my middle name
I can't waste time any more
You are my possession, you don't realise yet
Am I beginning to confuse you?
I can't waste time any more
Everybody has a date with an undertaker
A date that they cannot break
Could I interest you in hours of fun?

A date that they cannot break
I can't waste time any more

I think this song is showing Morrissey realising he's getting older and although his previous years were that of celibacy he realises he must 'not waste time any more' and have fun whilst he can, the fact he says 'any more' shows he believes he has wasted time in the past.
'Tounge against tounge, and we've only just begun' I think this shows his (what may be construde as old fashioned) attitude towards acts of this kind and although it's just kissing he still thinks it's a bit much considering they're only just together or may have only met recently. Although nowadays people wouldn't usually see this as abnormal act, Morrissey might see it as too much due to his 'lacking in that area' past.
'Everybody has a date with an undertaker, a date they cannot break' reinforces the fact he is getting older and is aware he will die one day and has to make the most of it whilst he can. He's questioning the person 'Am I moving too fast for you?' as I think maybe he is unsure how fast to take things again due to his past, as if he may come on too strong and not realise it because he hasn't had too much experience.
This next album is gonna be awesome.
I've only heard the song once, which was when he performed it live last year (in Kawasaki) and it felt like an immediate classic. One of the best gigs I've ever been to too.
