The Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Lyrics
Black as a beacon
In a river of shimmering fog
Yes she was
If you were heat seeking
She was hard to ignore
Yes she was
And she snapped
Wing mirrors off a Cadillac
With a particular pretty one
And that meant she never had to strain her back
When she was putting her lippy on
Well Time tastes bland
When she's not around
And you'd sit and you'd sink and approach the brink
Before she showed you how to shake love's steady hand
And she snapped
Wing mirrors off a Cadillac
With a particular pretty one
And that meant she never had to strain her back
When she was putting her lippy on
Shake love's steady hand
Shake love's steady -
She floats like an niccy rush but she stings like a bee
flat
The Blond-o sonic shimmer trap
And she snapped the wing mirrors off a Cadillac
With a particular pretty ones
And that meant she never had to strain her back
When she was putting her lippy on
In a river of shimmering fog
Yes she was
She was hard to ignore
Yes she was
Wing mirrors off a Cadillac
With a particular pretty one
When she was putting her lippy on
When she's not around
And you'd sit and you'd sink and approach the brink
Before she showed you how to shake love's steady hand
Wing mirrors off a Cadillac
With a particular pretty one
When she was putting her lippy on
Shake love's steady -
She floats like an niccy rush but she stings like a bee
flat
And she snapped the wing mirrors off a Cadillac
With a particular pretty ones
When she was putting her lippy on

THAAAAAAAA KNOWWWSSSSSSSSSS
Have NO clue what the guy beneath me means, and I'm not sure he knows either :) I like this song, but I LUV the band. I don't know what they mean by snapping mirrors off cars, but it sounds interesting. I'm guessing the woman is like a venus fly trap...sucking men in with some power she possesses. Oh, how I wish I was a blond:)
It's not that complex (though cool).

You know when people are in public and they want to do their hair, or check their face, do their lipstick etc. Well, that's all that is.

So instead of bending down the the wing-mirror of a car to apply her lipstick, this girl snap it off and stand upright, so she doesn't strain her back.

I don't think this song is one of their best, but it is still a very catchy, well written song. Being a b-side from one of their Suck it and See singles, The Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap has a more rock influence from their earlier days than their newer songs from Suck It and See.
THAAAAAAAA KNOWWWSSSSSSSSSS
This song is a bonus track in the japanese release of Suck and See and also a track on one of their EPs. Well, in the context of the album (the saga of falling in love, difficuties, break up and some resilience) it pretty much works as the woman he onced loved and that she doesn't care anymore. He says ''she was'' a lot, so he knows she's a trap because he's been there before, already shook love's hand. As for the car, it means she just breaks the wings off Cadillacs so she wouldn't have to curve herself to put her lippy on. It means that she does anything, including breaking beautiful stuff (maybe their love) to fullfil her ''needs''. That's a nice song in the context of the album.
I get the feeling from the lyrics, the melodies and the sound of the song as a total, sort of dark and deep (which reminds me a bit of the humbug's vibe), that the girl from the song is a spoiled, beautiful daddy's girl, but also a man-hypnotizer, the kind of woman who steals a room's atention when she walks in. She doesn't care for beauty or unique things like the cadyllac's mirrors she breaks, even though they're special, she just breaks things for fun, in a childish way, and "she has never had to strain her back when she was putting her lippy on" means to me that she has never had to work for her own stuff, she's had it all since the beginning. But, she knows how to shake love's steady hand, means all that spoilesness has turned her into a poisoning lover, who'll do anything to get what she want's, even getting to a point where she doesn't even care if she gets it or not, kind of a weird sence of freedom from the power of making small but meaningfull mistakes.
Amazing song, one of my favourites from the band
I'm beginning to REALLY dislike this song even though I haven't a clue what it means. It just can't be good. Nope. It can't.
