2 Bit Lyrics

Lover got caught in the rapture
Vanished right, vanished right
Lover got caught in the rapture
Vanished right, vanished right

Oh no...

You're lover got caught in the rapture
Vanished right, vanished right from your side
I guess they were right after all

Don't say you weren't warned
Nobody's found behind the wheel
They were just empty clothes crashing those cars
In a flash they were gone

But you're lover got caught, lover got caught, lover got caught, lover got caught...

Lover got caught up in the rapture
Vanished right, vanished right from your side
Nobody saw nothing faster
They were right after all
Lover got caught up in the rapture
Vanished right, vanished right
If you weren't such a bastard
You would be better off
But now you're left to burn
Gnash your teeth
No time to pass or perceive

Lover got caught up in the rapture
Vanished right from your side
No nobody saw nothing faster
They were right, oh
A thief at night

If you weren't such a bastard
You would be better off

I don't know for sure but this site is about discussing song meanings so if I took what I know about previous As Cities Burn lyrics and apply them to this song I would guess his wife finally figured out she's better than him and left. The singer used to mention his own unfaithfulness and feelings of unworthiness in himself when it came to the woman he "loved". (as he said himself "how do you sleep at night next to your wife who you love too much to tell her you don't love her at all") His actions have always contradicted how he feels. He knows how he should treat the woman he loves but all his actions say he doesn't care. Anyway knowing that, this song would seem to say she finally gave up on him for a better life.

The ACB lyrics you quote are from "Terrible, How Terrible For The Great City" (Which that title itself is from Revelation 18) and that song is about his father leaving his family, just like the next song on the CD "The Widow".

"Two Bit" is about the Rapture; I'm not sure if it is meant to be satirical or serious though.
