Wait for Me Lyrics
Girl come to me in a dream,
and I don't even know her name.
A pretty mark upon her breast
to signify her from the rest.
Her and I are just the same,
Building bridges out of fame.
She stands upon a dinner plate
and tells me that I'll have to wait.
Wait for me,
I know it won't be easy.
What a thing to believe in a dream.
Perhaps I knew her long ago,
I wrote her poems at 9 years old.
But then I did become a man,
and let her slip right through my hands.
I practiced all my wit and charm,
Had many girls on every arm.
I learned the depths of love and hate,
but never did learn how to wait.
Wait for you,
You say it like it's easy to do.
what a thing to believe in a dream.
I have you know that all my life
I have been searching for a wife.
A partner and a confidant,
A girl who wants the things I want,
A girl who doesn't come along,
'Cause she's already where I'm going.
Stand upon a broken stage
I bet you darlin' please, please wait.
Wait for me,
I know it won't be easy.
What a thing to believe in a dream.

I think the song is about a boy who has his dream wife pictured, but he isn't patiecent enough to wait for her. He is so desperate that she is not there that he has multipel meanless girls(Had many girls on every arm I learned the depths of love and hate But never did learn how to wait). But the reason why she is not in his life yet is that the universe orso thinks that he is not ready for her. so in the last verse the boy says to the girl that she should be patiencent enough to wait for him and does not marry another man who is not the best for her
What do you make of "Her and I are just the same, Building bridges out of fame." ??
This song is so pretty, one of my favorites
I have been in love with this song since the first time I ever heard it. Not even trying to interpret the meaning, the simple sound of it finds a deep comfort within my soul. I have shown it to everyone I hold close to me, trying to give them an experience, because this song truly offers just that. I will never forget one time. It was with my 2 close friends at summer camp. 17 years old. I played this song when it was pouring rain outside and we had no where else to be. My friend and I locked eye contact and she began to cry. This song has a way of reaching into everyone and finding a different meaning for each individual. It is every kind of beautiful. From its sound to its lyrics. The way I picture it, we\'re all patiently waiting. Waiting for the next great thing. The next great person to step into our lives. The next incredible opportunity. Sometimes we get so distracted with the wait, that we forget that whatever is meant to be will be. We are all on a different route, some intertwining, some twisting and turning. We must simply enjoy the experience, just like this song.
Wow, beautiful.
