I'm pretty sure that's correct. Except for the fourth line of verse two. Other than that, a beautiful song. His voice just swells with this transcendent beauty. On my top five WN songs for sure.

This is what I hear:

I AM POSITIVE ON THESE LYRICS BECAUSE I REFERENCED AN EARLIER VERSION OF THIS SONG WHEN THE MUSICIAN PLAYED IT LIVE WITH A BAND AND YOU COULD MAKE OUT THE WORDS MORE CLEARLY:

This song is kind of random but beautiful in the way that each verse has a completely different meaning and message

First Verse: Out in the world there are vultures or animals (referring to man) that love and are looking for something to hold to till death or eternity.

Second Verse: Maybe it's crazy to hope for something more than the flesh (being sarcastic) Won't they ever let you in (as in your inner being your soul the treasure that matters most)

Third Verse: Would you hold my hair back when I'm sick (meaning will you be there for me when I'm at my lowest) Sometimes we can't say what were meant to (as in say or do what we feel is the right thing to do because of circumstances or notions of false beliefs)

Fourth Verse: Crying kids don't remember those fun days for all of their kicking and screaming (meaning bitter people will never remember the beautiful moments because they focused on their self imposed misery)

Basically, it's a poem about people searching two different loves.
